Today feels like a crisp fall day - the temps this morning are in the 50's and it feels wonderful. Fall is my absolute favorite time of year - I look forward to the cooler temperatures, the pretty fall colors - its great!!My hubby and I are getting ready for fall by rearranging our furniture, painting the shed - cutting down the flowers - and planting some fall flowers. We are harvesting our herbs and tomatoes - the corn didn't do so well this year - but we will try again next year. Also I got a gift today - #15 out of 40 - I am going to try and explain what it is - in the hopes that someone can tell me what it is. When I opened the package at first I thought I got place mats, then it looked like a round doily with flowers stiched around the edges - but it has 3 layers. Then I notice it has metal clips - when you clip it together it makes kind of a flower shape with pockets all through it...not sure what to do with it. Hey sis - a little hint as to what it is would be great.I am taking it into to work to see if they can tell me what I am supposed to do with it.I work with one guy who has a masters degree in art history - he lives for the 'finer' things in life - unlike myself, just a common ole redneck. So maybe he will have an idea as to what it is.Well I need to get going. I am praying that you all will be blessed today.
Good Morning!!!Yes it is a beautiful morning - even if we get rain all day long. I know that many of you live in different parts of the country - so let me ask you, are the leaves changing colors there yet? Well they started here - I have noticed quite a few of them - seems to me it is quite early this year. I wonder if that means we will be getting a lot of snow this year.Things here have been quiet - but that is certainly not a complaint. I am still working on opening the 40 birthday presents. I have gotten several signs with cute little sayings on them...hmmm I wonder if that is a sign? Sorry I couldn't resist - really.Oh I also got an email this morning from my mother - get this she is retired, but still works to make ends meet - no shock there I am sure. Well she works at a grocery store, and today is her day off - which makes her glad. Why you may ask, because they are having a sale. Get this - a head of lettuce .59, bananas .15 a pound and a gallon of milk 1.59!!! Wow - oh wow, oh wow - I want to go shopping there!!! I can't even remember when I paid 2.99 for a gallon of milk let alone 1.59Work is going well, although I've got to say - I really don't do well in a politically correct world. I certainly shouldn't be working in Human Resources - I have strong ideas of right and wrong, and HR likes to deal in shades of gray. I don't see a lot of gray areas - I see black and white. We are so afraid that if we speak the truth, someone might get their feelings hurt and we can't have that.Alright I had better quite before I get to preaching this morning. Have a wonderful and blessed day today!!
Good Wednesday Morning,I am here at work - all alone - all the other people in my department went to a department meeting off site. That leaves little ole me to hold down the fort. Now why might you ask am I updating my blog if I am SUPPOSED to be working - well the fact is - I won't be taking my break for very long today because there is no one left to man the phones - so this works as my break.I have had a few fun filled few days - I have been sick, and still not really feeling up to par - but like I said someone needs to be here to answer the phones. I have sorted through my voicemails, and emails and now an hour and a half later I can actually get some work done.On to other more pressing matters - the gifts my sister sent. Well since my last update I got a sign that said dream and this mornings gift was a very cute statue of momma bear and her cub catching fish - really quite cool. Hmmmmmmm 3 bear things - could this be a theme? I thought originally that the theme was going to bepatterns, but I may have jumped to the wrong conclusions. Why patterns you ask because my sister lately is into some very wild prints, and she thinks I should be too. The outfit I first received has a black top with a very bold, very bright floral pattern - kind of like something you would see in the late 60's or early 70's, the only thing missing is the bandana.Hey sis you know I am just kidding - except about the pattern thing. I love all the gifts equally, but I have to say my favorite so far is the light up bear thingy, and the very squishy, huggable red teddy bear.Well that is all my break time will allow for now. Have a wonderful Wednesday - just remember you made it this far - Friday is right around the corner!!
It's Monday Morning!!Sometimes it helps to state the obvious especially on a Monday. Things here are relatively quiet - I can't say that anything earth shattering has happened lately. My hubby and I just got back from a camping trip into the mountains. His whole family was also there to celebrate his parents 50th anniversary. It was so nice - can't wait until we get some of the pictures back of the whole group. When I say whole group we are talking 34 people here. Most people wouldn't want to vacation with their whole family, and honestly It didn't go that great the first few years we were married - it brought us a lot of tension, but after five years together - we have gotten used to each others families and the nuts that sometimes shake loose from the family trees.Speaking of nuts - let me tell you about my sister (just kidding). My sister sent me a big package - why you might ask, well because my birthday is coming up. So since I am turning 40 this year - my sister sent me a box with 40 presents in it - each gift is numbered. I started opening them on Thursday, August 17th. So far I have received an outfit, a 'celebrate sign', a tea cup, a very cool light up glass thing - best description I have, and a cuddly red teddy bear - THANKS SIS!!! Not sure what tomorrows gift will hold, but one thing is for sure it will be a surprise!Other than that - my hubby andI have spent quite a bit of time studying prophecylately - can't say I have all of the answers - but what we have found out so far is astounding. You know the more we study together, the more I see that my husband has some great insight and wisdom when it comes to the scriptures.Well I pray that each of you will have a blessed Monday - and a peace filled week!Welcome to my blog!
